Unforgettable San Salvador: City, Volcano & Pupusas!

My wife and I arrived on an early morning flight and needed something fun to do before our hotel check-in, and this tour was perfect. We dropped our bags at the hotel and met Arely early in the morning for an excellent walking tour through San Salvador. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the city feel welcoming right away. We especially enjoyed the coffee stops along the way — a great local touch. After the city tour, we drove up to El Boquerón National Park to see the volcano, and the views were incredible. The highlight was finishing with delicious pupusas while enjoying an amazing panoramic view of San Salvador — truly unforgettable. Everything was smooth and well-organized, and the timing worked out perfectly because we returned to the hotel right when our room was ready. Arely was fantastic and we would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Salvador — especially if you want to see a lot in one day with a great guide!

Alex was my guide and I had a great day. Started with a short/easy hike with beautiful views, then we ventured into the chaos of the city. Alex gave me background of different areas, pointed other areas out (Mercado Central and other markets) that I might want to revisit during my stay. We had a nice coffee, nice lunch and nice convo. We used Perplexity to search for English-language tours that involve hiking, walking around and seeing the city, and learning about the country’s history. EC tours came up as one of the first results, and when we emailed them, they got back to us right away, we were able to pay in advance for our tours online, and they were always prompt and informative. We took three tours with this company (San Salvador city tour and Volcano; Mayan Archeological Sites; and Nawi Beach), and our tour guides were Wendy and Lisbeth, and our drivers were Manuel and Sandra. Everyone was really smart, capable, and fun. We will definitely be booking more tours with them next time we come to El Salvador.

From the moment Steve (best Translator in EL SALVADOR) met us at airport pick up our trip was improved. His personality is everything. Alessandro (best Driver in EL SALVADOR) was also cool. I messaged a week ago and got a response rather quickly to get a tour arranged for our group of 6. THANKS VANESSA!!! I was so happy they offered airport transport too. The guys worked hard and were very hospitable. We were so happy they accepted our invitation to have lunch with us during our tour.

Wendy was very knowledgeable and took my needs into consideration, we did exactly what I wanted and I learned so much, The views were amazing, and The driver William was always on point and appeared like magic whenever we needed him! El Salvador is a hidden gem and would recommend this tour to anyone who will listen.

Steven was an outstanding guide! My son and I truly enjoyed our day with him. He was friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and very patient with children, which made everything easier and more fun. We loved exploring the historic center, visiting El Boquerón National Park, and, last but not least, enjoying delicious pupusas and horchata. The tour itself is excellent, but Steven made it even more special. Highly recommended!
